Fellowship programme in IOL surgery recognised by NPCB, Government of India

First Eye Hospital to be recognised by Army Headquarters New Delhi for providing cashless eye care service to retired defence personnel (ECHS)
  HIMS implemented with the help of LAICO(Aravind Eye Hospital) Madurai, Tamil Nadu

  First Eye Hospital in Ganjam recognised by Government of India (Min of Labour) for providing free OPD and IP services to the poor and under privileged people under Rashtriya Swasthiya Bima Yojana (RSBY) scheme.

2012

A three year Project 'Bal Jyoti' for School Children Eye Health in Ganjam district started on 24 Sep 12 under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with SSA Ganjam and district administration
  A four year cluster project with ECOS, SCH Ranipeta and SCD Titlagarh under title "Strengthening of Community Eye Care Services and Rehabilitation" started on 01 Oct 12 in collaboration with CBM SARO Bangalore, CBM Germany and BMZ Germany. ECOS implementing agency.

2013

First Eye Hospital in Southern Odisha recognised by Government of Odisha (Min of Agriculture) for providing free OPD and IP services to the farmers under Biju Krushak Kalyana Yojana (BKKY) scheme.
  Responded to super cyclone "Phailin" in Ganjam district in form of Primary Health Care, WASH, advocacy for mainstreaming disability and rehabilitation.
  01 May 2013 foundation stone laid in 3rdTota Street, for an annexe building of four storied.

2014

Satellite centre started at Daringbadi, District-Kandhamal, Odisha
  Awareness created in districts of Ganjam, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Khordha using all available means.

2015

Dr. Mihir Kumar Bal awarded “Eye Health Leader 2015” by International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).
  School of Optometry started a one year certificate course (Vision Technician) affiliated to CMAI New Delhi

2016

Moved to new Annexe building on 23 Mar 2016.
  Celebration of “Silver Jubilee” of ECOS and inauguration of new ECOS annexe building.

2017

First “Vision Centre” of ECOS Eye Hospital started in Chilika on 04 Sep 2016 -, Dist- Khurda, Odisha.
  Empanelled with Employee State Insurance Scheme (ESIS) from 15 Mar 17.

2018

Dr. Mihir Kumar Bal, for his life long untiring community eye health activities in Odisha awarded “ACOIN Award 2017” on 09 Sep 2017 at ACOIN Goa 2017.
  ECOS Rotary Royal Eye Hospital, Kalarahanga, Patia, Bhubaneswar started from 01 Feb 2018. A joint project of ECOS Society and Rotary but unfortunately ECOS withdrew from the venture due to practical difficulties from 31.12.2018.

2019

Recognised by Government of Odisha (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare) for providing free OPD and IP services to beneficiaries under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) from 01 Feb 2019.
  "FANI" Cyclone relief work, general and eye health camps to the people of Krushnaprasad Block, Puri District.
  BMZ-2 Project implementation by ECOS sponsored by BMZ Lions Club of Germany.
  Modern equipments installed in ECOS - such as IOL Master 700, OCT Cirrus 500 , HFA Green Laser for better eye care.

2020

Glaucoma Week Celebration on 8th to 14th March, 2020 at Brahmapur Khallikote Stadium with live telecast in local language.
  From 11th March 2020 Corona Pandemic declared by World Health Organisation, but lock down started from 24th March 2020 onwards which made the hospital activities stand still. The lock down lifted by September 2020. Again Corona Pandemic 2nd wave started from 25/12/20.

2021

RAAVI study in February 2021 from 8th to 25th by AIIMS, New Delhi in collaboration with ECOS in Ganjam and Khurdha District.
  2nd phase COVI-19 Lockdown started...

2022

Newly project granted from CMB Project No. P10349.
  ECOS mobile eye clinic van granted(ECOS ON WHEEL)
  Dr. Mihir Bal sudden demise (July 23 2022)

Chief Minister's Award for ECOS for excellence in healthcare services with Certificated and Trophy.
